(Gyeongbok Palace)
The Gyeongbok Palace was located in modern-day Seoul. After moving the capital of the country to Hanyang, the Josun Dynasty's first King, King Tejo Lee Sung-Gae built the Gyeongbok Palace. Hanyang was beautiful, it was located near the midst of the country, and not only was it easy for transportation purposes, but it also was surrounded by mountains and rivers, which helped prevent enemies from atacking. Gyeongbok Palace was built during the fourth year of King Tejo and was Josun's best Palace, as well as the number one prominent palace of (past and present-day) Korea. However, during the Japanese Invasion of Korea, Gyeongbok Palace was burned down, only to be rebuilt 270 years later. Work Cited- 01 |
